Doug Hrbacek was appointed to the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Board of Directors in 2019 by the City Councils of Carrollton and Irving to represent both cities as a joint seat. Doug is currently a member of the DART Board Development Committee.
Doug’s commitment to public service extends across several leadership roles in Carrollton. A former Council member and Mayor Pro-Tem, Doug has also been involved in multiple committees, including chairing the City of Carrollton Redevelopment Committee and serving as vice-chair of the City of Carrollton Planning and Zoning Commission.
His dedication to improving the community also includes membership in the City of Carrollton Transit-Oriented Development Committee and the City’s Charter Review and Blue-Ribbon Committees, along with previous leadership roles on the Carrollton Public Schools Citizens Facilities Advisory Committee and the Dallas Regional Mobility Coalition’s Executive Committee. In addition, Doug also co-founded the Downtown Carrollton Neighborhood Summit, a community-focused initiative aimed at revitalizing the downtown area.
Doug has a strong background in business development and strategic sales. His knowledge in strategic solutions, particularly in deploying technology to enhance operational efficiency and customer experiences, informs his work at DART and in his role as a public servant. Doug's ability to apply his business acumen to both private and public sectors allows him to bring innovative solutions to the challenges faced by public transportation systems.
