DART Police Department will host a free National Night Out against crime event today from 6 to 8 p.m. The public is invited to meet officers, staff and neighbors in the parking lot of police headquarters, 2111 S. Corinth Street Road, located at Illinois Station on DART’s Blue Line.
The event includes health and wellness literature, crime prevention and safety information, food, beverages and music. Free face painting and haircuts (with student ID) will also be provided to kids along with lots of giveaways.
On Wednesday, DART Police Department's Southwest Operations is inviting everyone out for a cup of coffee and a chat. The annual 'Coffee with a Cop' event will be held at Norma's Café,
1123 W. Davis St., Dallas, Oct. 4, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.
DART Police and Coffee with a Cop will team up for the second year to help answer questions about law enforcement, crime, transit issues and DART in general.
Coffee with a Cop is dedicated to encouraging communication and positive interactions between law enforcement agencies and the public. It began as part of National Community Policing Week in 2016 and now continues each year on the first Wednesday in October furthering efforts nationwide to bridge the gap between the community and the law.
