DART to the
“Slavery at Jefferson's Monticello: Paradox of Liberty” exhibit at the African American Museum through Dec. 31 and explore the issue of slavery and the lives of enslaved families and their descendants.
The route is simple:
Step 1: Ride DART’s
Green Line to
Fair Park Station.
Step 2: Walk on over to the
African American Museum.
Step 3: Experience artifacts like Jefferson’s Farm Book. In this book, Jefferson detailed entries about plantation accounts and recorded information about his farming and industrial operations, including references to the dozens of people who lived on
Mulberry Row, what they did and how Mulberry Row changed over time.
