It seems like a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, that any of us enjoyed an outdoor event. But that ends tomorrow, when May the 4th Be With You returns (after a year’s absence) to Historic Downtown Carrollton.
The celebration of all things Star Wars happens from 5-8 p.m. on the town square, which is at 1106 S. Broadway St. That’s only a three-minute walk from Downtown Carrollton Station on the Green Line
Make Star Wars-themed crafts with the kids, show off your knowledge in a trivia contest, or take advantage of numerous, Instagram-able photos ops. There will be plenty of Star Wars-themed arcade games, as well. Come early and check out the eclectic shops and restaurants that line the streets of the quaint neighborhood. Costumes are highly encouraged!
You can attend a free art class from 5-6 p.m., but you must register first. Two trivia contests – one for the whole family, another for serious Star Wars nerds – also require registration, and take place at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively. You can register up to four people for these events. Walkups will be accepted if they don’t fill up.
Oh, and don’t be a nerf herder – wear a mask when and where social distancing is not practicable. We’re not out of the woods just quite yet, and health safety protocols will be in place.
