The State Fair of Texas may be over, but there are still lots of fun things happening in North Texas, including
AURORA - an expansive free public art event that transforms downtown Dallas into an open-air, art gallery. The impressive installations of light, video and sound transform the city into one of the nation’s largest outdoor exhibitions.
Since its founding in 2010 by artists Shane Pennington and Joshua King, along with veteran Dallas arts supporter Veletta Forsythe Lill, AURORA has attracted more than 130,000 visitors, commissioned and presented over 300 local and international artists.
AURORA is currently the largest event of its kind in the United States and is quickly becoming a cornerstone cultural event for North Texas with local and international renown.
The best way to AURORA is on DART. Take the
Red or
Blue Line to
Convention Center Station. It is a short walk from there.
Purchase your transit pass on DART’s
GoPass® app. The real-time trip planning tool in the app will make getting to AURORA easy. You can download the app to your smartphone for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play store.
