Ask DART - Is light rail service impacted by the Jan. 23 Service Change Ask DART - Is light rail service impacted by the Jan. 23 Service Change

The short answer is no. DART Rail service is not affected by the Jan. 23 Service Change – at least not directly.

However, by restoring the frequency of bus service on DART’s Core Frequent Routes and increasing the hours and days of GoLink service, the service changes will no doubt have a positive impact on the connectivity of the entire system! If you connect from bus to rail – or GoLink to rail – you will enjoy improved rail transfer connections.

The Jan. 23 Service Change is focused on bus and GoLink service. The change marks the return of bus service every 15 minutes during peak hours for all of DART's Core Frequent bus routes that were modified in June 2022. You can find complete details about the bus changes here.

This service change also significantly expands GoLink’s service hours. Now you can take GoLink from 5 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week in all* DART GoLink zones! (* Note: For the Inland Port Connect zone only, service is available from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday-Friday.)

None of these changes will negatively affect rail service in any way. You’ll only see improvements in the way you connect and transfer. DART Rail will continue to operate from approximately 5 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week. The light rail system will keep running every seven-and-a-half to 15-minutes during rush hours; every 20 minutes during the midday and on weekends; and every 30 minutes late at night. Meanwhile, DART Rail’s 65 stations will continue to put you within walking distance of the places you go every day.

DART hopes that the additional bus and GoLink service helps to smooth out your rail transfer connections. Happy riding!
