NCAA Final Four Dallas
Posted on Mar 30, 2023 by DART Daily

College basketball is one of the main attractions this weekend as Dallas hosts the NCAA Women’s Basketball Final Four and all its festivities. If college basketball isn’t your thing, there’s also live music, live theater, an arts festival, and a marathon – all at DARTable locations.

Thursday, March 30-Sunday, April 2

NCAA Women’s Basketball Final Four games happen at American Airlines Center Friday through Sunday. Watch the semifinal games for Division I, and the championship games for Divisions I, II, and III.

DART is adding light rail service Friday, March 31 through Sunday, April 2. Green and Orange line trains, which provide service to DART’s Victory Station and the American Airlines Center (AAC), will each have an additional car to provide space for additional passengers. Trains will arrive at each station every 20 minutes. Learn more at DART.org/news

On Sunday, the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) will have one train before the Division I National Championship game, leaving Fort Worth T&P Station at 11:30 a.m., and arriving at Victory Station at 12:29 p.m. The train will return westbound one hour after the end of game. More information is available on the TRE website at TrinityRailwayExpress.org.

Thursday, March 30

Ladysmith Black Mambazo has performed for audiences all over the world for nearly 60 years. The South African choral group came to Americans’ attention in 1987, when it was featured on Paul Simon’s Graceland album. Tonight, the musicians, whom Nelson Mandela called “South Africa’s cultural ambassadors to the world,” perform at the Meyerson Symphony Center. The performance hall is a short walk from Pearl/Arts District Station on all four DART Rail lines or the M-Line Trolley.

Friday, March 31

Captain Phantasm vs The Nefarious Dr. Noir is one of Pocket Sandwich Theatre’s popular popcorn-tossing melodramas. Inspired by the radio serials of the 1940s, the fun evening of theater features a classic hero-and-villain setup, as you might expect judging by the title. The play opens tonight and runs through May 13. Pocket Sandwich Theater is now located in Historic Downtown Carrollton and is a short walk from the Green Line’s Downtown Carrollton Station.

DRUMLine Live embodies the marching band experience with riveting rhythms, bold beats, and high-octane energy. Catchy it at Strauss Square in the Dallas Arts District – walkable from Pearl/Arts District Station on all four DART Rail lines, or the M-Line Trolley.

Friday, March 31-Saturday, April 1

A Midsummer Night’s Dream is part of Ballet Ensemble of Texas’ annual Celebration of Dance. The troupe's dance interpretation of Shakespeare’s famous comedy takes place at the Irving Arts Center. Get to the center on Bus Route 229, which departs from the Orange Line’s Dallas College North Lake Campus Station.

Saturday, April 1

Irving Marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifier, but both runners and walkers are welcome. The starting and ending point is Toyota Music Factory. In between, participants will take a mostly flat course through Las Colinas and surrounding areas. Get to the Toyota Music Factory by taking the Orange Line to Irving Convention Center Station, followed by a walk to the starting point.

Big Art Day/Big Art After Dark  is a two-part event that spans 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and showcases artists and the arts in Garland. There are exhibits at the Granville Arts Center, an art market, hands-on crafts for kids, and live entertainment. The events are all walkable from Downtown Garland Station on the Blue Line.

The AT&T Block Party happens in the AT&T Discovery District. They are throwing a party to celebrate the NCAA® Men’s Final Four March Madness Music Festival. The District will broadcast the concert live on the Media Wall. The AT&T Discovery District is a few blocks from Akard Station, served by all four DART Rail lines.
