Friday, Oct. 4

Deep Ellum First Fridays happen the first Friday of every month, featuring promotional events and a celebration/focus of Deep Ellum culture, art, music, food, shopping, and history. As we continue to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, enjoy an unforgettable evening of music, art, and culture. Los Gran Reyes will headline the night, bringing cumbia moderna to the Main Street Plaza at 7 p.m. Spoken word artist iamdwalk will follow with a powerful performance. The event takes place throughout the neighborhood; you can walk from Deep Ellum or Baylor University Medical stations, both on the Green Line.

Carrie the Musical is based on the Stephen King novel and the classic film. The play features a powerful score and dramatic storytelling. See the performance through Nov. 3 at Theatre Three, walkable from the M-Line trolley.

Go Back for Murder is a classic Agatha Christie tale about a woman who believes that her mother, who died in prison, was wrongly convicted of her father’s murder. Can truth prevail? Rover Dramawerks’ production runs through Oct. 19 at Cox Playhouse. The venue is right across Haggard Park from the Red Line’s Downtown Plano Station.

Music Made Here
is a concert series featuring live performances in the newly renovated Downtown Garland Square. Along with the concerts, you can enjoy bites from local restaurants. This Friday night, catch a free performance by singer-songwriter Dev Wulf and soulful Americana duo The Vintage Yell. The square is a short walk from Downtown Garland Station on the Blue Line.

Saturday, Oct. 5

Latinidad Festival returns for the third annual celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. You’ll experience the food, dance and music of Latin America at Sammons Park in the Dallas Arts District. The event is free! The park is walkable from Pearl/Arts District Station on all four DART Rail lines, or from the M-Line trolley.

Beethoven & Berlioz is the season opener for the Richardson Symphony Orchestra. The program features Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 with acclaimed pianist Kenny Broberg and Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique. See the performance at the Eisemann Center, right across the plaza from the Red Line’s Galatyn Park Station.
