If you’re a regular DART rider, you probably already know how to respect the ride while using the DART System – let other passengers exit before you board, don’t play loud music, don’t eat on board, pick up after yourself. With the challenges we all face during the pandemic, there are some other points of etiquette you should be aware of.

Here are some to keep in mind when you’re on DART vehicles or property:

Wear a mask. It’s not only for your protection, it’s for others’. They don’t have to be medical grade. A cloth covering or bandana will do just fine; if you find yourself without a face covering, DART’s got you covered with onboard mask dispensers.

Wash your hands often and carry hand sanitizer. You’ll also find hand sanitizer dispensers on DART vehicles.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. This is one of the main ways that germs spread.

Practice social distancing. This means six feet when it’s possible. When it’s not, do your best to keep some space between you and your neighbor. Bus operators are instructed to observe the following capacity limits on DART vehicles:

• On 40-foot buses, the passenger limit is 20.
• On 31-foot buses, the limit is 17.
• On any smaller buses, the limit is six.

• On trains, the limit is 47 per vehicle.

If you feel sick, please stay home. COVID-19 is highly contagious, and it’s airborne. Please don’t endanger others. Stay home if you have any symptoms.
