After years of planning, DART’s New Bus Network will finally go into effect on Monday, Jan. 24, 2022. The New Bus Network offers many improvements over the existing bus system and expands GoLink coverage.

You may have some questions on how to prepare for the change. Here’s seven key points to help you plan your new trips.

  1. Find your new routes and GoLink zones.

Plan your route ahead of time by visiting our website DARTzoom.org. Under the “Find My New Route” tab, you can use our Trip Planner to assist you with your ride.

You can either plan your journey by selecting a starting point and destination and it will automatically display the best route for you. With the trip planner, you can also look up specific route numbers and Stop IDs. Make sure that you toggle the slider to “New” to see the routes for the New Bus Network.

On the same page, you will also find a conversion table that shows the previous route and the new service that will take its place. It is a great resource to see what your new route number will be at a glance.

  2. Look for your new schedules

All the new maps and schedules are available online for you to review. You can also find them on board vehicles and at transit centers. You can find a list of the new routes with links to their maps and schedules at DART.org/NewBus

  3. Download the GoPass® app

The GoPass app is the easiest way for you to plan trips, buy passes, and schedule GoLink trips. There is a built-in trip planner within the app that will let you know if GoLink is an option, and then it lets you schedule GoLink with a few clicks. The GoPass app is FREE to download from the Google Play store or the Apple App Store. Find more information at GoPass.org.

  4. Learn how to schedule and pay for GoLink trips

GoLink is DART’s on-demand service that serves destinations within a designated zone, and each zone provides service to a rail station or transit center for connections to other DART services.

On Dec. 6, DART expanded GoLink coverage in some existing zones and introduced several all-new GoLink zones, bringing the total to 30! Some DART bus routes will be replaced by GoLink service. You can learn how to book your ride by watching our informational video or by visiting DART.org/GoLink.

  5. Locate your new bus stops

Your new bus route may pick up from a different location than your old one. We are also eliminating some bus stops to speed up trips, or replacing bus stops with GoLink, which picks up from any point in the zone.

Prior to Monday, identify where your new bus stops on your new routes will be using the interactive map at DARTzoom.org.

  6. Ride DART Free Jan. 24-30

DART is offering free rides for one week beginning Jan. 24, 2022, until end of service on Jan. 30, 2022, to celebrate the launch of the New Bus Network.

DART will also offer 50% off full-price fares purchased with any contactless payment option from Jan. 31, 2022, until end of service on Feb. 14, 2022.

  7. Call DART Customer Service or ask DART staff for help
Lastly, we want to remind you that we are here to help. On Jan. 24, we will have volunteers at transit centers and stations to help you with your new bus routes or GoLink services.

If you need help with planning your trip, call DART Customer Service at 214-979-1111. For the first three weeks after the launch, DART Customer Service will be available to assist you from 4 a.m. to 2 a.m.
