It’s National Eat Outside Day – not that many North Texans need an excuse to dine al fresco. Our region is brimming with great restaurant patios, and a lot of them are DARTable. Whether you're meeting friends after work or spending a Sunday afternoon chilling, here are some suggestions.
Vetted Well. Not only does this recent arrival to the Cedars neighborhood have scratch-made food and 32 beers – it’s got a rooftop bar featuring one of the most stunning downtown views in the city. It’s a couple of blocks from
Convention Center Station.
Bankhead Brewing. For great shared plates and craft beer made on-premises, head to this charming spot near
Downtown Rowlett Station. The food is cooked in wood-burning ovens, and the premium, house-crafted beers come in a wide variety. Traditional German and English recipes get a lot of play here. The inviting space features plentiful outdoor seating.
Italian Café. This family-friendly Irving favorite, famous for its homemade sandwiches, pasta and seafood, has a terrific patio. It’s only a short walk from
Las Colinas Urban Center Station.
Intrinsic Smokehouse and Brewery. Garland’s excellent answer to the brewpub craze is within easy walking distance of
Downtown Garland Station. Intrinsic has dozens of seasonally selected beers on tap, exposed brick walls, and a super-cool industrial-chic rooftop deck, as well.
