The holiday season continues, and there are plenty to do this weekend. Skate outdoors, let a million points of light enchant you or bid Scrooge farewell for another year. Hop on board and explore what’s DARTable.

Friday, Dec. 27

Christmas on the Square keeps the holiday spirit going with thousands of lights throughout Downtown Garland, as well as music and other cheery stuff. The display continues through Dec. 31. Take the Blue Line to Downtown Garland Station, and you’re just a few blocks from the town square.

Saturday, Dec. 28

Skating Under the Stars is just as it sounds: a chance to ice skate outdoors, under the winter sky. It’s not something you get to do much in Texas, but this unique attraction – part of the Christmas in the Branch celebration – is open through Jan. 17. The outdoor rink is just a short walk from Farmers Branch Station on the Green Line.

Holiday at the Arboretum is a classic holiday tradition at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. It’s a magnificent display, with a brand-new Christmas Village, 30-foot spruce tree, and The 12 Days of Christmas, which depicts each day with its own Victorian-style gazebo. It’s especially cool at night, when more than a million lights illuminate the grounds. And of course, there’s all the gorgeous floral life the Arboretum is known for. Get there on Bus Route 60, departing from Union Station.

Dallas Stars take on the Colorado Avalanche on the ice at American Airlines Center. Get ready for some serious sports action. And, count on DART for an assist: Just get on the Green Line, Orange Line or Trinity Railway Express (TRE), and we’ll deliver you to Victory Station. That’s right at the arena.

Sunday, Dec. 29

The Color of Death! is an evening of theatrical intrigue that has its first preview tonight. The play's first act is in “Living Black & White,” which makes the action on stage look like an old-time movie; the second act is in living color. Harry Hunsacker is a wannabe actor turned private detective, who the Army enlists to go undercover and infiltrate a top-secret Nazi research lab in Bavaria. He quickly discovers the Nazis have a game-changing weapon they are about to unleash. The campy thriller runs through Jan. 19 at the Eisemann Center, right across the plaza from the Red Line’s Galatyn Park Station.

A Christmas Carol is an annual tradition at the Wyly Theatre, and this year’s production ends after today’s matinee. Full of music, spirits and cheer, Dallas Theater Center's production boldly reimagines Scrooge as a woman. The joy, redemption, and true Christmas spirit remain unchanged. Get to the Wyly by taking any DART Rail line to Pearl/Arts District Station, and walking about 6 minutes.

Mannheim Steamroller Christmas is another great holiday tradition for many, and the popular new-age outfit comes to The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory tonight. The show has lots of holiday favorites, as well as other selections from the group’s catalog. The venue is about a 9-minute walk from Irving Convention Center Station on the Orange Line.
