'til Midnight at the Nasher is free, and this is the last one until March. There’s music from Chulita Vinyl Club (an all-female DJ group), plus a screening of the acclaimed film, “Hidden Figures.” Bring a picnic or nosh on street tacos from Wolfgang Puck Catering (along with other assorted snacks). There’s a bar, too, plus all-natural popsicles by foodie faves Steel City Pops. And, of course, you get the chance to take in the Nasher’s amazing collection by moonlight.

Late Nights at the Dallas Museum of Art is happening right across Harwood Street from the Nasher. If you’re a late-night type and an art lover, you’re in luck. There’s a musical tribute to the great Billie Holiday, and a special talk about the upcoming exhibition, “Ida O'Keeffe: Escaping Georgia's Shadow.” Become a museum member at the event, and you’ll get an exclusive preview of it before it opens on Nov. 18. Both the DMA and the Nasher are a 6-minute walk from St. Paul Station on all four DART Rail lines; you can also get there on the D-Link (Route 722).

You probably know the story: A prospective nun is too lively for convent life, so they send her to be a nanny for a widowed captain’s seven children. She capture’s his heart and they marry. Later, they narrowly escape the Nazi occupation of Austria by trekking across the Alps. Plano’s Courtyard Theater brings the classic to life. The venue is right across Haggard Park from Downtown Plano Station on the Red Line.

“From Brooklyn to Broadway in ONLY 50 Years” is Steve Solomon's new standup comedy show. The Broadway star impersonates more than 20 characters. An oddball assortment of TSA officers, doctors, family and friends makes this an entertaining evening at the Eisemann Center, mere steps from the Red Line’s Galatyn Park Station.

Dallas Comic Show is a family-friendly pop-culture convention that’s run by and for fans. The budget-friendly event still features comic book artists, media guests, costumed characters, gaming, anime – everything a comic-book geek could hope for. It happens at Richardson Civic Center. Take the Red Line to Arapaho Center Station, the catch Bus Route 361 just across Central Expressway to 411 W. Arapaho Road. It’s also only 9 or 10 minutes by foot, though you do have to cross under the freeway.

Addison Circle Tree Lighting features a special performance by WaterTower Theatre, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, carriage rides, gift shopping and more. The kickoff to the holiday season takes place in Beckert Park, a 6-minute walk from Addison Transit Center.

Elwood, the Ochre House’s latest original production, gets its last performance on Saturday. The play is about a recluse living in the piney woods of Georgia. He finds himself in charge of a baby named Elvis, and he must protect the child from nefarious villains. The musical comedy has it all: spectacle, dance, and original music. The Ochre House is half a block from the Green Line’s Fair Park Station.

12 Days of Holiday Beer kicks off on Saturday. The event features a dozen breweries joining the Dallas Arboretum on 12 different dates. All your local favorites will get their own chance to shine; on Saturday, it’s Petticolas Brewing, and on Sunday, it’s Steam Theory Brewing. There are 10 other dates in store, as well. You can get to the Arboretum by taking Bus Route 60 and getting off at Garland Road and Lakeland Drive.
