There’s a cultural weekend in store, with a kind of retro theme running through it. The weather should be pretty nice. Check out the following events:

Thursday, Sept. 14

Get an early start to the weekend by partaking in the Downtown Plano Art & Wine Walk. At this “sip and shop” event, you get to sample selected wines at the great shops of Downtown Plano while enjoying live music, curated art exhibitions, and special discounts. The theme this go-around is “I Love the ‘80s.” It's the perfect way to unwind. The evening begins at 5 p.m., steps from Downtown Plano Station.

Friday, Sept. 15

It’s the third Friday of the month, so that means 'til Midnight at the Nasher is happening tonight. As always, there will be a live outdoor concert with great local talent and a film screening. There are also social media scavenger hunts, progressive tours, and, of course, the greatness of the Nasher collection. Wolfgang Puck Catering offers bar services, snacks and tacos, which are pretty great, too. Walker Lukens takes the stage at 7 p.m., and the film – 2002’s Catch Me If You Can – starts at 9 p.m. It’s free!

Right across the street, it’s Late Nights at the Dallas Museum of Art. Tonight will feature a “retro” theme, with a talk exploring pop culture and nostalgia, plus lots more -- including a happy hour performance by the Matt Tolentino Band and an 8 p.m. show by the Hip Van Winkles. To get to either venue, take DART Rail to St. Paul Station; you can also catch the D-Link (Route 722) or M-Line Trolley to get there.

Saturday, Sept. 16

The Irving Main Street Event is back and jam-packed with something for everyone. This is the event’s second day in Irving's Heritage District, adjacent to Downtown Irving/Heritage Crossing Station on the Trinity Railway Express (TRE). The annual street festival celebrates the hometown feel of Irving with attractions for all ages. Each year thousands of people attend this family affair, which offers live music, the Manifolds on Main Street Car Show, free rides and activities for children, food and shopping. Admission is free on both days.

Sunday, Sept. 17

The multi-day Addison Oktoberfest is in its last day, having begun o Sept. 14. An authentic recreation of the Munich Oktoberfest, Addison's event features incredible German culinary fare, a marketplace, music, and kid-friendly options like rides, midway games, and much more. Join more than 70,000 people to celebrate polka, German food, and the same Paulaner bier served in Bavaria. There will be dachshund races, bier barrel bowling, a yodeling contest, a German spelling bee, and more. It all happens at Addison Circle Park, near the Addison Transit Center.
