The weekend holds comedy, theater, and a pair of excellent film festivals in store. Get on board and get to these great events.

PLEASE NOTE: 

• From 7 p.m. Thursday, April 23, until 3 a.m. Friday, April 24, the Cityplace/Uptown Station tunnel will close on both tracks as crews perform scheduled maintenance. Rail service through the tunnel will be suspended, with a bus bridge operating between Pearl/Arts District, Cityplace/Uptown, and SMU/Mockingbird stations.
• Northbound track work between Pearl/Arts District and SMU/Mockingbird stations is scheduled from 10 p.m. Friday, April 24, through 3 a.m. Monday, April 27. Expect longer travel times.
• Green Line service will not be affected. Orange Line trains will provide service between DFW Airport Terminal A Station and Lawnview Station, following the Green Line corridor after Pearl/Arts District Station.

Thursday, April 23

The Dallas International Film Festival includes more than 120 screenings, along with Q&As with filmmakers, panel discussions, and red-carpet events. Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas Victory Park is the main venue for the festival, which happens through April 30. To get to the venue, take the Green Line to Victory Station. (Additional screenings and events will take place at Texas Theatre, served by bus route 9, and Virgin Hotels Dallas, served by bus route 230.)

Thursday, April 23-Sunday, April 26

The USA Film Festival features narrative films, documentaries, and short films. Highlights include a salute to filmmaker Renny Harlin alongside a screening of his latest film and a 75th anniversary screening of Alfred Hitchcock's Strangers on a Train. The festival takes place at the Angelika Film Center, two doors down from the mezzanine of Mockingbird Station on the Red, Blue and Orange lines.

Saturday, April 24-Sunday, April 25

Christina P is a stand-up comedian, writer, and TV personality who has had two Netflix specials and cohosts the podcast Your Mom’s House. See her at Punch Line Irving, which is part of the Toyota Music Factory complex, walkable from the Orange Line’s Irving Convention Center Station.

Saturday, April 24-Monday, April 26

Drinking Habits is an old-fashioned farce following the exploits of two nuns and two reporters going undercover as a priest and a nun.  See Garland Civic Theatre’s production at Granville Arts Center, right next to Downtown Garland Station on the Blue Line. If you can’t make it this weekend, the play will run next weekend, May 1-3.

Sunday, April 25

Movies in the Park is Klyde Warren Park’s free movie series. Grab some dinner from one of the many food trucks and find some space on the lawn. Tonight’s feature: Wicked: For Good, the 2025 sequel to Wicked. You can walk there from St. Paul Station on the Red, Blue, Green, and Orange lines. The M-Line Trolley drops you right across the street from the park.

Ravel & Rachmaninoff is Richardson Symphony Orchestra's season finale, featuring the works of living composer Anna Clyne and performances by pianist Jon Kimura Parker. Highlights are Ravel's Piano Concerto in G Major and Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Dances. See it at the Eisemann Center, right across the plaza from the Red Line’s Galatyn Park Station.
