Friday, June 5

SPARK! City is a series of immersive art installations that pay tribute to Dallas neighborhoods: Downtown/Uptown, Deep Ellum, Oak Cliff/Bishop Arts, Vickery Meadow, and The Cedars. The original artwork is by Dallas artist Erika Bauer, along with students from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and Emmett J. Conrad High School. The exhibit runs through Aug. 30 at SPARK! Dallas, located in the South Side on Lamar building. That’s a quick walk from Cedars Station on the Red and Blue lines.


Music Made Here is a vibrant concert series in the Downtown Garland Square. Enjoy bites from local restaurants and take advantage of the kids’ activity area. Tonight’s performer: Frank Hannon, who is best known as a founding member of the hard rock band Tesla, but has gone on to explore blues, country, and folk music. The square is an easy walk from Downtown Garland Station on the Blue Line.

Yellowcard brings their Up Up Down Down Tour to Irving, in support of the 2025 album, Better Days. The rock band is joined by New Found Glory and Plain White T’s. Catch the show at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory, walkable from the Orange Line’s Irving Convention Center Station.

Laura is a classic murder mystery in which a detective investigating a beautiful woman's death becomes obsessed with her, only to find out that she’s actually still alive. He now must uncover the identity of the murdered woman and consider that the culprit may be the woman he’s been falling for. See Rover Dramawerks’ production of the 1947 play through June 20 at Cox Playhouse, right across Haggard Park from the Red Line’s Downtown Plano Station.

Shapel Lacey is a Los Angeles-based comedian who headlines clubs across the country. Catch his honest, disarming humor at Punch Line Irving. That’s in the Toyota Music Factory complex, walkable from Irving Convention Center Station on the Orange Line.
Saturday, June 6

Neil Simon's Last Hit portrays the great American playwright taking a young comic under his wing. Catch Pegasus Theatre’s hilarious and heartwarming production at Addison Performing Arts Centre. You can walk there from Addison Station on the Silver Line. There will be additional performances on June 11 and 14.

Irving Taco Festival is the inaugural installation of what promises to be a local favorite – after all, there are margaritas, vendors, live music, and a general festival atmosphere. Plus, of course, tacos and lots of them. Check it out at Toyota Music Factory, walkable from the Orange Line’s Irving Convention Center Station.
