Musical theater, comedy, and a favorite festival of all things German – that and more is DARTable this weekend. Keep reading to see where DSART can take you.

Thursday, Sept. 18-Sunday, Sept. 21

Addison Oktoberfest gives you the classic Bavarian experience with a Texas twist. It’s a four-day celebration of German food and beer – plus polka music and more on several stages in Addison Circle Park. That’s a short walk from Addison Transit Center, served by multiple bus routes.

Friday, Sept. 19

’til Midnight at the Nasher presents live outdoor concerts, progressive tours, and access to the entire museum. There is also bar service and food. Tonight, hear music by Pa’lante and Nemegata, see a dance performance by Afro Perreo, and settle in for a film screening of Ghost. The Nasher Sculpture Center is walkable from Pearl/Arts District Station on all four DART Rail lines, or from the M-Line Trolley.

Betty’s Notebook Re: Transmit is not so much a concert as a surreal, immersive performance. A teenage girl hears what she believes is the final transmission of Amelia Earhart on her radio. Is it true? Voices drift through the space, projections fill the room, and the music is a story unfolding in real. Check out this intriguing performance through Sept. 28 at the Eisemann Center, just across the plaza from the Red Line’s Galatyn Park Station.

Friday, Sept.19-Saturday, Sept. 20

Matt Friend is a 26-year-old comedian and actor – and an incredible impressionist – with a growing social media following. He gives four performances over two nights at Hyena’s, right next to the mezzanine at Mockingbird Station on the Red, Blue, and Orange lines.

CityLine Live presents live music under the stars at CityLine Plaza. Bring a picnic blanket or grab a patio seat at one of CityLine’s many restaurants. On Friday, enjoy country music by Kirk Holloway; on Saturday, check out the soul-inspired stylings of Bobby Dade. The plaza is a short walk from CityLine Station on the Red Line.

Friday, Sept. 19-Sunday, Sept. 21

Peter Pan is a story that never gets old – much like the protagonist himself. Texas Ballet Theater presents a colorful take on the well-known tale, complete with neon and mohawks. See Wendy, Peter, Tinkerbell, and the rest at the Winspear Opera House. You can walk there from Pearl/Arts District Station on all four DART Rail lines, or from the M-Line Trolley.
