There’s plenty going on this weekend as fall kicks into full swing – not least of all the biggest state fair in the country. If you haven’t been yet, this should be a beautiful weekend to visit Big Tex! And, of course, DART would be the best way to do that. Elsewhere, there’s an eclectic assortment of DARTable events. Dig in to find out more.

Friday, Oct. 9

October Movie Nights is Downtown Dallas Inc.’s free movies-under-the-stars series at Main Street Garden. In keeping with the time of year, all of the films are scary. Tonight, catch a screening of the classic Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The park is an easy walk from St. Paul Station on the Red, Blue, Green and Orange lines.

Anything Goes is a madcap 1930s musical that takes place on an ocean liner. A lovelorn stockbroker, with the help of a nightclub singer, schemes to thwart the impending marriage of a wealthy heiress who is the object of his admiration. See it through Oct. 25 at Granville Arts Center, right next to the Blue Line’s Downtown Garland Station.

CityLine Live presents live music under the stars. Bring picnic blankets or grab a patio seat at one of the many surrounding restaurants. On Friday,  enjoy the rock, pop and country sounds of John Herbert while browsing a night market. Saturday brings the R&B stylings of  Bobby Dade. Get there by taking the Red Line to CityLine/Bush Station.

Winston Hodges is a comedian who’s toured all over the East Coast, as well placing sixth on Kevin Hart's Netflix show, Funny AF. Catch his charming, edgy act at Punch Line Irving, walkable from Irving Convention Center Station on the Orange Line.

DanceAfrica is Dallas Black Dance Theatre’s celebration of the rich cultures of Africa. Enjoy traditional and contemporary African dance, live drums, and a communal dance experience in which dancers, drummers, and the audience move together as one. Experience it at Moody Performance Hall, walkable from Pearl/Arts District Station on the Red, Blue, Green, and Orange lines.

That’s the first station after you transfer from the Silver Line at DFW Airport North Station.
