All the festivities are happening at the Angelika Film Center Dallas, located next door to Mockingbird Station on the Red, Blue and Orange lines.

Main Street Fort Worth Arts Festival runs all weekend in a nine-block area of Downtown Fort Worth. Main Street is lined with food, music and more than 200 artists. The action happens between Weatherford and 9th streets. The festival is walkable from Fort Worth Central Station on the Trinity Railway Express (TRE), which departs from Union and Victory stations. The TRE has special service on Sunday.

Diosa is an experimental evening of theatre that explores both the sacred and the absurd. See the performances at the Latino Cultural Center, a very short walk from the Green Line’s Deep Ellum Station.

Music On Main takes place in Irving’s Heritage Park each Friday evening in April. You can grab dinner before the show from one of several food vendors, or eat at one of the restaurants in the Heritage District. This Friday night, Watusi takes the stage with reggae/worldbeat music and plenty of positive vibes. The park is a couple of blocks from Downtown Irving/Heritage Crossing Station on the Trinity Railway Express (TRE).

’til Midnight at the Nasher presents live outdoor concerts and film screenings. You can also take tours and view the permanent collection and special exhibitions. You’ll find bar service and food for purchase, as well. Tonight, Golden Dawn Arkestra performs, followed by a screening of Selena. The Nasher Sculpture Center is walkable from St. Paul Station on all four DART Rail lines, or from the M-Line trolley.

Satchmo at the Waldorf is a one-man, three-character play in which the same actor portrays jazz great Louis Armstrong, his manager, and Miles Davis. The action takes place in 1971, backstage at the Empire Room of New York’s Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, just four months before the trumpeter’s death. See it through April 28 at WaterTower Theatre. The venue is walkable from Addison Transit Center – served by DART Bus Routes 22, 200, 202, 227, 229, 235, 236, 237, 238, 239, 240, and 305.

It showcases original paintings, drawings, printmaking, photography, sculptures, jewelry, and more. The event also presents workshops for aspiring art collectors, as well as hands-on activities for families and children. The art show happens at the African American Museum, very near Fair Park Station on the Green Line.

Plano Community Band presents an afternoon of classic wind band music. Enjoy the performance at the Eisemann Center, right across the plaza from the Red Line’s Galatyn Park Station.
