Performances, festivals, and a historical tour are all DARTable this weekend – get on board and check them out!

Thursday, April 25-Sunday, April 28

The Seagull is one of Chekov’s greatest plays. In an isolated country home, a group of family and artists gather for an outdoor performance. Over the course of their visit, the audience learns much about them. See the classic at Theatre Three, walkable from the M-Line trolley.

Thursday, April 25-Thursday, May 2
The Dallas International Film Festival features more than films by established and emerging artists from more than 60 countries. There are Q&A sessions with filmmakers and actors, nightly red-carpet events, the Festival Lounge, and more. It all takes place at Violet Crown Dallas, walkable from Uptown/ Cityplace Station on the Red, Blue, and Orange lines. You can also get there on the M-Line trolley.

Friday, April 26

Music on Main
takes place in Irving’s Heritage Park each Friday evening in April. You can grab dinner before the show from one of several food vendors, or eat at one of the restaurants in the neighborhood. Friday night's featured performer is Barefoot Nation, a tribute to Kenny Chesney. The park is a couple of blocks from Downtown Irving/Heritage Crossing Station on the Trinity Railway Express (TRE).

Friday, April 26-Saturday, April 27

+Erba is an interactive, multimedia dance performance with two dancers who create, with children, an imaginary city. The “architect” dancer creates streets and houses full of color and light, while the other dancer adds grass and trees. Their creations are projected on two large screens. Experience the performance at the Eisemann Center, just across the plaza from the Red Line’s Galatyn Park Station.

Friday, April 26-Sunday, April 28

You Can’t Take it with You is the stage classic following a large and extended family of charming eccentrics. When the granddaughter falls for her boss, she fears that their two families, so different in temperament, will never see eye to eye. Catch the performance at Granville Arts Center, right next to Downtown Garland Station on the Blue Line.

Saturday, April 27
Hidden History DFW's Black History Tour is an educational tour that visits many sites instrumental in the development of Dallas’ vibrant African American communities. Visitors will learn about the two largest settlements following the Civil War and how the southern Dallas migration changed the face of the city forever. The tour departs from J.B. Jackson, Jr. Transit Center at 9 a.m. sharp. The transit center is right next to MLK, Jr. Station on the Green Line, and is also served by bus routes 13, 23, 104 and 216.

Festival of Joy is a colorful celebration of Indian culture. The fun day in the park is full of vibrant colors, flowers, music, and dance – plus a free vegetarian feast. In the evening, popular Indian artist Gaura Vani performs Indian kirtan music with Western elements such as guitar, gospel music, and hip-hop. Feel the joy at Klyde Warren Park, walkable from St. Paul Station on all four DART Rail lines, or from the M-line trolley.

D’JAM
celebrates North Texas jazz with its second annual Jazz Stroll. The “Day of Jazz” transforms Flora Street into a kind of jazz alley. The Dallas Arts District is walkable from Pearl/Arts District Station on all four DART Rail lines, or from the M-Line trolley.
