Help the city of Farmer Branch "light up the night" on Saturday, Jan. 20, for the Grand Opening of JOYA, their one-of-a-kind, glow-in-the-dark playground!
Construction on the unique facility is wrapping up now and the Mayor and our City Council have invited the public to attend the opening celebration.
Joya, which means "jewel" in Spanish, covers 18,000 square feet at Oran Good Park at the corner of Valley View Lane and Tom Field Road (13300 Dennis Ln, Farmers Branch, TX 75234).
The new playground has a 27-foot rope sphere with six levels for climbing, swings and slides, as well as an obstacle course, a zip line with interactive lights, a spin zone with LED lights and illuminated seating. The entire park will "come alive" at night with interactive features that glow, allowing kids and families to continue playing after sunset.
Joya is a part of the Oran Good Park Complex that includes baseball and softball fields, a turf soccer field, trails, and Rawhide Creek. The park is an easy 15-minute walk down Valley View Lane from DART’s Farmers Branch Station on the Green Line.
