Arthur “Lee” Lowery, 31 years of service: What is your favorite memory as it relates to a station or rail line opening? On opening day of light rail in 1996, our department was tasked with supporting the mainline, assisting passengers riding the new DART Light Rail train for the very first time. Many of these people had never seen the inside of a train before, much less ridden one. As each train departed a station it was pretty cool watching the faces of each rider look around with amazement and excitement.

Debra Tanksley, 34 years of service: What does the 25 years of DART light rail anniversary mean to you personally? Pride and joy! I am proud that DART has come this far with the rail system/technology for the public being one of the nation’s top rail systems. I am Joyful that I have been able to be part of this great adventure for 27 years as a full-time employee and seven years as a temp/part-time employee. Working here at DART has been awesome and is a big part of my life that I wouldn’t change for world!

Javier Molina Sr., 30 years of service: What does it mean to you to be a DART employee? Being a DART employee means being part of a TEAM that has shaped the metroplex for the next 100 years. Working with others in transforming what was only 20 miles to 93 + miles. I often tell people how DART has transformed the downtown area into a commercial/residential area that you could not even imagine.

Joel Arrona, 29 years of service: What does the 25 years of DART light rail anniversary mean to you personally? It means great accomplishment by many good people, and I feel blessed to have been part of it. To my understanding five of us are left from the Start Up Team’s first 40.

Lee Brodie, 25 years of service. Why is it so important for you to provide 5 Star service to our riders? I want to give my best to the internal and external customers.

Richard Stagner, 25 years of service. What does it mean to you to be a DART employee? It means being responsible and doing my job as well as possible. People depend on me doing my best I can.

Ruben Barrientos, 31 years of service: What does it mean to you to be a DART employee? I have seen a lot of changes over the years as far as growth. It’s been very exciting to see it all happen and to be part of it.

Blake Clemmons, 25 years of service: What does the 25 years of DART light rail anniversary mean to you personally? It’s another milestone in DART Rail success as a major part of our National Transit System. I feel DART has been a key player nationwide at setting the bar high.

Monte Bodine, 24+ years of service: What is your favorite memory as it relates to a station or rail line opening? Walking and riding the first test train through the tunnel. 

Kenneth D. Mudd, 25 years of service: What does the 25 years of DART light rail anniversary mean to you personally? I helped accomplish a feat that Dallas residents had to vote upon, in hopes it would become a success. Being around long enough to watch it grow from trains running only between Corinth Station and CROF Rail yard, to now trains running all the way to Rowlett, Garland, Plano, DFW, Buckner, University of Dallas and Fort Worth.

Steve Gogel, 26 years of service: Why is it so important for you to provide 5 Star service to our riders? I believe in treating everybody in the way that I would like to be treated and keeping everyone as safe as possible.

Randall Anderson, 26 years of service: What does the 25 years of DART light rail anniversary mean to you personally? It always great to be a part of something new that has been very successful.
