The fireworks may be over, but there’s still fun in store this weekend – a block party, outdoorsy concerts and more are on the itinerary. Check out the following DARTable events on this sunny July weekend. 

Friday, July 5 

R&B Summer Block Party features Jill Scott, Faith Evans, and Tweet. It happens at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory, about a 9-minute walk from Irving Convention Center Station on the Orange Line. There will be pre and post-show parties with Lady Diamond & the Ruff Rubies on the Texas Lottery® Plaza. 

Saturday, July 6

Klyde Warren Park's Summer Movie Series continues this evening with Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, the third installment of the popular film franchise. Set 21 years after the original, it follows four teenagers who are transported into the video-game world of Jumanji. There will be food trucks on site; showtime is 8:30 p.m. The park is about an 8-minute walk from St. Paul Station. 

Dallas Zoo Safari Nights is going strong, with some of North Texas' best musical acts performing on the shady Cat Green. Tonight, the Coppertones take the stage, playing their blend of soulful hits from the classic days of Motown and Memphis. 

Courtyard Texas Music Series is also bringing great live music. Tonight, country artist William Michael Morgan comes all the way from Mississippi to perform at the Courtyard Theater. That’s right across Haggard Park from the Red Line’s Downtown Plano Station. 

Sunday, July 7 

Summer Survivor Speaker Series features the testimonies of holocaust survivors, refugees and children. Today’s speaker at 12:30 p.m. is Rosian Zerner, who lived through World War II as a young girl separated from her parents, living on a farm in Lithuania. The Dallas Holocaust Museum/Center for Education and Tolerance is just a couple of blocks from West End Station.

The Fine Arts Chambers Players’ Basically Beethoven Festival  features an amazing concert series that happens every Sunday all July at the Moody Performance Hall. Each concert features a Rising Star Recital at 2:30 p.m. highlighting gifted local musicians. The feature performances start at 3 p.m. The venue is about an 8-minute walk from Pearl/Arts District Station.

To create a smoother ride through downtown Dallas and reduce service interruptions, track improvements are under way and will continue until September. During that time, DART Rail in Downtown Dallas will be discontinued each weekend between Pearl/Arts District and West End stations. Bus bridges will be in operation. DART.org/plus
