DART to
Walk Against Hate Sept. 15 at Victory Plaza and the surrounding streets and join the Anti-Defamation League in a two-mile walk designed to bring the diverse communities of Dallas together to fight discrimination and injustice.
The event takes place Sept. 15 in Victory Plaza and the surrounding streets. The plaza is just on the other side of American Airlines Center, a short walk from Victory Station on the Green and Orange lines.
When you walk, you’ll be raising funds for the Anti-Defamation League, which supports school programs, training sessions with law enforcement and other outreach efforts that educate the public about bigotry and what can be done to counter it. For more than 100 years, the Anti-Defamation League has championed civil rights, fought anti-Semitism and confronted inequality.
The organization hosted walks in several cities, but this is the first in Dallas. Typically, walkers form teams, ranging from a group of friends to law firms, companies, faith communities and the like. Families and individual “teams of one” also are common.
In addition to the walk, there’s a Walk Against Hate Main Stage Entertainment and Diversity Expo in Victory Plaza. Local non-profits will be on hand to share the work they do in and around Dallas. The expo takes place from 8-11 a.m.; the walk commences at 9:30 a.m., with check-in at 8 a.m.
