Washington, DC –  Congressman Colin Allred (TX-32), a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, will attend the signing of the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which includes language from the RAPID Act, Allred’s bipartisan legislation to streamline public-private partnerships for infrastructure projects.

Allred held a press conference Saturday with DART President and CEO Nadine Lee and DFW Airport EVP of Global Strategy and Development John Ackerman on how the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill will create jobs and help improve North Texas’ infrastructure. According to a report by Moody’s Analytics this bill is expected to create 650,000 jobs by the middle of the decade.

“North Texas is rapidly growing and our region is poised to benefit greatly from the federal infrastructure investments in this bipartisan bill. I was proud to vote for this historic legislation that will create jobs, reduce congestion and grow our economy,” said Allred. “I look forward to working closely with local leaders to make sure North Texas puts these funds to work quickly and am grateful to Nadine and John for joining me this weekend.”

“We want to thank Congressman Allred and the Biden Administration for their constant and steadfast support of transit in the infrastructure package, as well as in the Build Back Better Plan,” said Nadine Lee, President & CEO of DART. “Through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, DART has a greater opportunity to provide more transportation choices for the people in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.”

“As DFW faces the challenge of balancing the priorities of modernizing existing infrastructure capabilities, while making the necessary investments for future travel demands, we are grateful for the support of elected leaders like Congressman Allred,” said DFW EVP John Ackerman.
