June 29 is National Camera Day, so, it’s time to connect with your inner shutterbug. At least snap a selfie or two! Whether you’re a pro photographer or can barely hold your phone still, everybody likes to post pictures of themselves with interesting backgrounds. You’ll find a lot of great backgrounds along the DART System. There’s a pretty good view of downtown to be had from Cedars Station – but if you really want to up your game, hit the rooftop Soda Bar at the NYLO Hotel or the one at Vetted Well for some of the most spectacular skyline views around. Unless you have a friend who lives in a high-rise, you’re not likely to find better! Las Colinas Urban Center Station offers a nice view of Lake Carolyn and the Water Street development, which is quickly coming together and will open soon. The urban environment throughout Las Colinas comes right up to the water’s edge, creating an almost European feel that makes a good backdrop for a selfie. Check out the whole area for some great water-and-city backgrounds. We’re partial to the natural vista at Camp Wisdom Station, where an overlook was built right in, as part of the station, overlooking an expanse of undeveloped land.  You can grab a shot that makes it look like you’re in the country. Cityplace Station’s west portal leads you to the turntable of the highly photogenic M-Line Trolley. Their collection of vintage streetcars make for picturesque backdrops to photograph your friends and yourself. After you snap a shot or two, jump on the trolley and head into Uptown, where plenty of fun waits. Of course, you’ll have to post the evidence on Facebook or Instagram. Downtown Plano Station overlooks scenic Haggard Park, which, in addition to sitting right next to a historic district, has the terrific Interurban Railway Museum. Flanking the opposite platform is Downtown Plano itself, which provides ample opportunities for fun’n’selfies. And  you’ll find few greater troves of photos ops than the Dallas Zoo, which has a namesake station on the Red Line. The zoo even has special half-day photo safaris – the next one isn’t until after the weather cools in September, but it’s worth marking your calendar for.
