DART will transition to the New Bus Network beginning on Jan. 24, 2022. As the name implies, the new bus network offers many improvements over the existing bus system as well as to GoLink service.

DART’s New Bus Network will be simpler, better, faster and easier. Some key improvements include better accessibility, improved frequency and longer hours of operation.

Increased frequency
Service on the most frequent routes will provide bus frequency matching or better than light rail service – with 15-minute peak and 20-minute midday trips. Additionally, light rail service will also return to pre-pandemic levels, providing 15-minute peak service and more frequent evening service.

Less travel time
By making the new bus routes more direct, focusing on major transit corridors, and reducing the number of bus stops, DART bus service will be faster. This will improve connections and help passengers get to their destinations quicker.

Improved service
All local DART bus routes will provide service 7 days a week between the hours of 5 a.m. and midnight, at a minimum. The 22 most-frequent bus routes will operate between 4 a.m. and 1 a.m. These expanded service hours should benefit transit riders who work non-traditional hours.

Better access
With the implementation of the New Bus Network service changes, 74% of DART service-area residents will have access to transit services within walking distance. This is an increase of 6% from the current bus network. New on-demand GoLink service zones will help achieve the added coverage.

The New Bus Network also will increase by 34% the number of jobs that an average resident of the DART Service Area can reach in one hour compared to the existing bus network.
