St. Patrick’s Day celebrations are the earliest signs of spring, and this year, you’re in luck! The Dallas Mavs St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival will make a return this year the Saturday before St. Patrick’s Day. There are several other ways to celebrate this year throughout the service area and DART can take you right to the shenanigans. So, hop on board and cheers to safe ride!
Irving St. Patrick’s 5K begins and ends at the Toyota Music Factory and follows a scenic route through Las Colinas. Afterward there’s a post-race party at the Toyota Music Factory. There’s a 1-mile Fun Run at 8:30 a.m., and the main run begins at 9 a.m. You can take Orange Line to Irving Convention Center Station and walk or take Bus Route 227 to the venue.
Legacy Hall in West Plano is getting its Irish on with live Celtic music and, of course, green beer. The fun takes place on March 17 (St. Patrick’s Day proper) from 3-9 p.m., with happy hour prices on beer from 3-6 p.m. You can get there using the GoLink Legacy West service from the Northwest Plano Park & Ride. GoLink runs until 8 p.m. Your other option is Bus Route 241, which runs right by the venue and has service until midnight.
The St. Paddy's Day Bash & Shamrock Beer Walk takes over the Downtown Plano Arts District on Saturday, March 12. The event – co-hosted by the Historic Downtown Plano Association and The Fillmore Pub – will feature live music, food, and fun! Vendors will line 15th Street to check out. The celebration kicks off at 10 a.m. and live music starts at 1 p.m.in McCall Plaza. Catch the Red or Orange Line to Downtown Plano Station and you are in the middle of the party.
Celebrate the St. Patrick’s Day Block Party at AT&T Discovery District on March 12. This FREE outdoor event will feature musical performances by Matt and Kim, Surf Mesa, The Rich Girls and DJ Blake Ward. There will also be a live broadcast of the Dallas Mavs St. Patrick’s Parade on the media wall, as well as performances by Irish Folk dancers, a kid’s zone and more! This all-day celebration will begin at 10 a.m. The AT&T Discovery District is a short walk down Akard Street from Akard Station on all four light rail lines.
