Patrick Kennedy - 2025 DART Board of Directors

Patrick J. Kennedy, CNU-a, Hon. Dallas AIA, was appointed to the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Board of Directors in 2016 by the Dallas City Council. He currently chairs the Committee-of-the-Whole Development Committee. Patrick's previous work with DART includes being a member of the DART Board Administration Committee, Defined Benefits Committee, Vice-Chair of the Audit Committee, and Chair of the Planning and Capital Programs Committee, which was dissolved in 2022.

Outside of the agency, Patrick is very involved in urban planning, serving as an Adjunct Professor - Sustainable Urban Development at SMU’s Lyle School of Engineering. He is a member of The Real Estate Council and the Urban Land Institute, where he sits on the Transit-Oriented Development and Placemaking Product Council. He also has been a past board member of the Congress for the New Urbanism – North Texas Chapter from 2010 to 2015, serving as its President from 2013 to 2015. Patrick has received multiple urban planning and design awards from organizations such as NCTCOG, the Greater Dallas Planning Council, and the American Planning Association (APA).

Patrick holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (B.L.A.) with a focus on sustainable urban design from Pennsylvania State University. His diverse experience and leadership in urban planning and design contribute significantly to his work on the DART Board.
