Starting Friday and running all weekend, Taste Addison pairs food from dozens of restaurants with great music. Tonight, North Texas' very own Casey Donahew headlines; Saturday, it’s the Eli Young Band; and on Sunday, numerous tribute bands will be on hand to add to the family fun. It all adds up to a three-day menu of fun at Addison Circle Park, a very short walk from Addison Transit Center.

Another solid three days of fun awaits at Galatyn Park Urban Center, served by Galatyn Park Station. Wildflower! Arts and Music Festival kicks off Friday night, and by the time it’s over, more than 80 acts will have performed – including Kool & the Gang, Goo Goo Dolls, Spoon, Jimmy Eat World, Gin Blossoms, Trout Fishing in America and Reckless Kelly. There’s also a children’s area, plenty of food and – of course – the one-of-a-kind, artsy vendors the festival is known for.

It’ the third Friday of the month, which always means a pair of late-night events in the Dallas Arts District. 'til Midnight at the Nasher is free – and tonight, Julie Byrne and Vagabon will be bringing the tunes, while the classic Harold and Maude provides the viewing. There’s a cash bar, grab-and-go snacks and street tacos, and all-natural popsicles from Steel City Pops.

Just around the corner, Late Nights at the Dallas Museum of Art is throwing a garden party, ringing in the spring with tours of floral still lifes, outdoor activities and other artsy, seasonal delights.

Get to either venue by taking a short walk from Pearl/Arts District Station or hopping the D-Link (Route 722). If you’re coming from Uptown, the M-Line Trolley is the way to go.

For a quirkier art experience, fueled by a sugar rush, check out Sweet Tooth Hotel, which starts today and runs through the end of June. This one-off is part art installation, part retail pop-up. There are five sweets-themed interactive rooms; fantastical desserts and surprises behind every door; and, of course, some amazing sweets for sale. The 1200-square-foot project brings together some of Dallas' most innovative artists, including Jeremy Biggers, Shamsy Roomiani, Jojo Chuang and more. If you’re an art lover with a sweet tooth, you’re in for a treat at 2316 Victory Park Lane, near the intersection of High Market Street. It’s a short walk from Victory Station.

Feel the need to redeem yourself after that sugar binge? No worries, The Marketplace Garland has you covered. With fresh produce, wholesome baked goods, and unique culinary items from local artisans, you’ll be back on that health kick in no time. Of course, there are also jams, jellies, sweetbreads and the like. Go ahead and indulge. If you’re interested, the Good Samaritans of Garland will be accepting donations of canned and boxed food items. There: redeemed again. This event takes place in the heart of Garland's historic downtown square, a short walk from Downtown Garland Station.

The great food just keeps on coming this weekend. Taste of Irving is a culinary and music celebration at Cimarron Park Recreation Center. In addition to culinary stage demonstrations, sample a variety of music genres on multiple small stages – jazz, blues and Latin. To get there, take Bus Route 401 from North Lake College Station, and get off at Valley Ranch Parkway East and Cimarron Trail.

“Multicultural” is the word of the day. The DFW Dragon Boat, Kite and Lantern Festival is a free, vibrant event celebrating the diversity of Asia, and of North Texas. Cultural performances, an international costume parade, interactive activities and carnival-like games round out an awesome afternoon on the shores of Lake Carolyn in Las Colinas. Take a short walk from Las Colinas Urban Center Station, or hop the Las Colinas APT System to get right to the colorful action.

Univision's Festival de Mayo also is free, with nationally recognized artists performing in a celebratory atmosphere. This year's go-around features Los Ángeles Azules, Conjunto Primavera, Los Rieleros Del Norte, Banda Rancho Viejo, Virlán García and more. The festival happens in Fair Park, accessible by Fair Park or MLK, Jr. stations.
