Welcome to another DARTable weekend! Because the biting cold and predicted “wintry mix” on Saturday and Sunday may find you at home with a hot cup of tea, we’ve selected events that take place (or start) on Thursday and Friday.

Thursday, Jan. 22

Dungeons & Dragons: The Twenty-Sided Tavern is an interactive fantasy adventure where you choose your heroes, battle monsters, and help three adventurers on a quest to save the world. You get to decide which heroes appear and where they explore. The unique production runs through February 1 at Wyly Theatre. You can walk from Pearl/Arts District Station on the Red, Blue, green, and Orange lines.

Paul Chowdhry is one of the UK’s most successful standup comedians. He comes to Dallas as part of his U.S. tour debut, Artificial Indian. His humor explores being a British Asian man, as well the louder, more chaotic nature of America. The show takes place at Majestic Theatre. That’s a very short walk from St. Paul Station on the Red, Blue, Green, and Orange lines.

Friday, Jan. 23

The Journey North: Hope, Labor and Culture is an exhibition that explores the physical and emotional aspects of migration. It tells stories of hope, humanity, labor and culture. After tonight’s opening reception, the exhibition will remain on display through February 27 at the Latino Cultural Center. That’s just down the street from Deep Ellum Station on the Green Line.

Nothing More comes to Dallas in support of their 2024 album, Carnal. See the San Antonio rockers at South Side Ballroom, easily walkable from Cedars Station on the Red and Blue lines.

Milan Patel performed at the 2025 Netflix Introducing Stand Up Showcase. He has been featured at numerous comedy festivals, and will appear in an upcoming animated series produced by Greg Daniels and Mike Judge. His set is a sort of variety show, with standup, animation, and sketch comedy. He's joined by Nipa Patel and Teddy C. at the Dallas Comedy Club, walkable from the Green Line’s Baylor University Medical Center Station.

The Graduate is WaterTower Theatre’s production of a play adapted from the novel and classic film. In 1960s California, recent college grad Benjamin Braddock’s future plans begin to go awry after he has an affair with the (now famous) Mrs. Robinson. Funny and observant, the play runs through Feb. 8 at the Addison Performing Arts Centre. That’s walkable from Addison Station on the Silver Line.
