Get on board for a weekend that includes exhibitions, plays and musical performances. DART is your ride to these awesome events.
Friday, Jan. 27
Pretty Woman: The Musical, based on the much-loved 1990 movie, features an original score by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, and a book by the movie’s legendary director Garry Marshall and screenwriter J. F. Lawton. See all the iconic moments you remember come to life through Feb. 5 at the Music Hall at Fair Park, a short walk from Fair Park Station on the Green Line.
Movement: The Legacy of Kineticism displays the work of artists from three historical eras who use optical effects or mechanical or manipulable parts to engage the viewer physically and engulf you in your surroundings. See the exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art through July 16. The museum is walkable from St. Paul Station on all four DART Rail lines.
Friday, Jan. 27-Sunday, Jan. 29
A Few Good Men follows the same plot as the 1990s movie: Two Marines go on trial for a fellow serviceman’s death, and personalities clash in an explosive trial. Catch Garland Civic Theatre’s production at Granville Arts Center, right next to the Blue Line’s Downtown Garland Station.
Sunday, Jan. 29
Rhapsodies in Blue features the Lone Star Wind Orchestra performing a work by Ticheli and – of course – the title piece by Gershwin. There is also a brand-new, multimedia work by Julie Giroux. Experience the performance at the Eisemann Center, right across the plaza from Galatyn Park Station on the Red Line.
Noah Kahan brings his popular brand of folk-pop to the House of Blues. The venue is a short walk from West End Station on all four DART Rail lines.
