Little Shop of Horrors is a Lyric Stage’s spooky Halloween offering. The sci-fi horror musical has an electrifying 1960s pop/rock score. Check it out at Dallas’ Majestic Theatre, just a few blocks from St. Paul Station on all four DART Rail lines.

Friday, Oct. 27-Saturday, Oct. 28

Dracula is a world premiere production by Avant Chamber Ballet. Featuring a score by Philip Glass, the suspenseful story has been reimagined for modern times. The ballet should exhilarate novice ballet-goers and aficionados alike at Strauss Square in the Dallas Arts District. The venue is walkable from Pearl/Arts District Station on all four DART Rail lines, or from the M-Line trolley.

The Harambee Festival is one of the oldest and largest African American community events in Dallas-Fort Worth. Created as an alternative celebration to Halloween, the event is a cultural experience with a showcase of diverse musical entertainment and all-day activities. The festival happens at Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center, two blocks from the Green Line’s MLK, Jr. Station. 

Dallas Día de Los Muertos Parade and Festival departs from Dallas City Hall, continues throughout downtown on Griffin and Commerce streets, and ends back at Dallas City Hall. The colorful procession features horses, dance groups, music, floats and elaborate costumes. The family-friendly festival will include live music, entertainment, food vendors, arts and crafts, and more. Dallas City Hall is walkable from Akard Station on all four DART Rail lines.

Ghost Town is Carrollton’s family-friendly event where guests can embark on a scavenger hunt for ghosts, get some candy, and play games at a carnival midway. There is also a costume contest, after which will be a screening of Monster House at sunset. All the festivities happen at the square, a short walk from the Green Line’s Downtown Carrollton Station.

Día de los Muertos Festival at the Latino Cultural Center features music, sugar skulls, face painting, and much more. The galleries are full of beautiful artwork and altars as part of a yearly exhibit.  The festival  all free and open to the public, just down the street from Deep Ellum Station on the Green Line.

Rest In Plano (R.I.P.) Fest lets visitors step through the gargoyle gates and be transported to a Downtown Plano that’s considerably more eerie than usual. Explore spooky photo ops, creepy characters, thrilling performances, and live music at McCall Plaza. Get to the festival by taking the Red Line to Downtown Plano Station.

(RESCHEDULED TO OCT. 31) The Glenn Heights Fall Festival is the city’s autumn extravaganza happening at Glenn Heights City Hall from 5-8 p.m. As the leaves are changing colors, enjoy some of the fun activities the City of Glenn Heights have for the Fall Festival! You can stroll through the pumpkin patch for the perfect photo op or hop on the delightful hayride!

DART will also have a booth at the event from 5-7 p.m.! Come celebrate with us for our 40th anniversary! We will be having fun games and prizes as well as promotional giveaways. The Glenn Heights City Hall is accessible by the Glenn Heights GoLink Zone.

It Came from Texas Film Festival features B movies from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s – campy films homegrown in Texas from the sci-fi and horror genres. The highlight is a screening of the classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, plus a documentary on horror film legend Bob Burns and a whole slew of B-movies and a performance by the Mocky Horror Picture Show, an interactive comedy troupe. Don’t miss the festival at Garland’s Plaza Theatre, a short walk from Downtown Garland Station on the Blue Line.
