Live performances, holiday train cars and harvest celebrations are all great ways to enjoy autumn. They’re all DARTable, too. Check out this week’s offerings.

Friday, Nov. 19

Nunsense follows a group of nuns who have survived an unfortunate convent cooking accident; the other 52 were killed by it. The nuns stage a variety show to raise funds for their deceased sisters’ funeral. The hilarious talent acts and musical numbers have made this play a worldwide hit for more than 30 years; this is your last weekend to catch the MainStage Irving production at the Irving Arts Center. You can get there by Bus Route 401, departing from the Orange Line’s North Lake College Station.

Saturday, Nov. 20

Classic Car Show & Local Fuel Pop-Up Coffee Shop features originals and nearly original vintage cars and trucks. The show begins at 10 a.m. and is free to all spectators in the Farmers Branch Historical Park, an easy walk from Green Line’s Farmers Branch Station.

Native American Heritage Month Celebration continues in the AT&T Discovery District with a live powwow, dancers, music and Native American vendors. The celebration happens from 1-5 p.m. just less than a 5 minute walk from Akard Station on all four DART Rail lines.

Addison After Dark puts on a Harvest Hootenanny with gourmet food trucks, a petting zoo, a hayride, and live music from James Lann and the Bodarks. The free event happens in Addison Circle Park, a short walk from Addison Transit Center.

Kosher Lutherans tells the tale of Hanna and Franklyn, a Jewish couple who pose as Lutherans so as not to ruffle their surrogate mother’s Midwestern sensibilities. Tonight is the comedy’s last performance at the Cox Playhouse, just across haggard Park from Downtown Plano Station on the Red Line.

Sunday, Nov. 21

The Trains at NorthPark is the largest miniature train exhibit in Texas. Visitors watch more than 750 railcars circle nearly a third of a mile of tracks. The whimsical journey the fall foliage of New England, the Golden Gate Bridge and lots of stops in between. Get there by taking the Orange or Red line to Park Lane Station and then catching the NorthPark Shuttle (Bus Route 702).
