Festival at the Switchyard is one of our region’s biggest festivals – and it’s free! In addition to free concerts, the festival features live children’s entertainment, front-of-stage community performances, rides and games, face painting and balloon art, a beer garden, and an array of vendors. The big-name bands include Hoobastank, Lit and headliners Soul Asylum. The festivities all take place in Historic Downtown Carrollton, a short walk from Downtown Carrollton Station on the Green Line.

The Sacred and the Profane conjures the whimsy of Lewis Carroll while examining the ways that our perceptions are influenced by perspective. Part of The Fine Arts Chamber player’s Hallam Family Concert Series, the afternoon of chamber music starts at 3 p.m. at Moody Performance Hall in the Dallas Arts District. These pieces for harp, piano and string quartet include works by William Grant Still, Michael Ippolito, and Claude Debussy. The venue is walkable from Pearl/Arts District Station on all four DART Rail lines.
