The event features a performance by Q the Band, festive carolers, the chance to snap photos with real-live reindeer, a snow hill, train rides for the little ones, and photos with Santa. Christmas Pops is the Dallas Symphony Chorus’ annual performance with transcendent anthems, classical holiday favorites and singalong carols. The venue is walkable from Pearl/Arts District Station on all four DART Rail lines, or the M-Line trolley.

Scrooge the Musical is North Texas Performing Arts’ 13th production of the holiday favorite, and it features the largest cast yet. Adapted from the movie Scrooge, the play also follows closely the plot of Dicken’s original classic. See the performance through Dec. 10 at the Courtyard Theatre, just across Haggard Park from the Red Line’s Downtown Plano Station.

Fruitcakes is a fun-filled evening of holiday cheer with southern spinsters, lost cats, and a Christmas hog named Buster. See the heartwarming play through Dec 16 at Garland’s Plaza Theater, a short walk from Downtown Garland Station on the Blue Line.

Santa Claus vs. The Martians is based on the similarly named, so-bad-it’s good 1964 cult movie. The play recreates the hilariously bad acting and low-budget props from that film, as Martians capture Santa Claus to bring joy to the children of Mars. Enjoy the campy fun through Dec. 17 at Main Sate Irving-Las Colinas, a short walk from Downtown Irving/Heritage Crossing Station on the Trinity Railway Express (TRE).

Ebenezer Scrooge has become a holiday tradition and an audience favorite at the Pocket Sandwich Theatre. The show is based on the age-old holiday favorite about the miserly Scrooge, who is visited one Christmas Eve by three ghosts intent on helping him change his ways. This tale of love, redemption and forgiveness captures the true spirit and magic of the holiday season for the whole family. BMW Dallas Marathon Festival begins with the Friday Night Lights Mile, is followed by a 5K and 10K races on Saturday, and culminates with full, half and ultra-marathons on Sunday. There will also be a 10K, 5K (running and walking), 5K Team Challenge, Kid’s 100-Yard Dash Oncor Kid’s Race, plus a new, walking-only event for the Half Marathon. It all centers on Dallas City Hall Plaza, a short walk from Akard Station on all four DART Rail lines or EBJ Union Station on the Red Line, Blue Line and Trinity Railway Express (TRE). The TRE does not run on Sunday.

The Nutcracker is a sparkling production by Avant Chamber Ballet, with a live orchestra, captivating sets and lush costumes. Performances are at Moody Performance Hall, walkable from Pearl/Arts District Station on all four DART Rail lines.

Free and open to the public, the holiday extravaganza offers a variety of unique “shop local” gifts, including handcrafted jewelry, accessories, handbags, crafts, and more. There are also performances by North Texas musicians and two acclaimed exhibitions that celebrate the history of Deep Ellum. Experience it all at the African American Museum, a very short walk from the Green Line’s Fair Park Station.

DART's 40th Anniversary celebrations continue this weekend with a Holiday-themed block party at Camp Wisdom Station. Come celebrate with us for our 40th anniversary. We will be having a radio remote with 97.9 The Beat, hot chocolate, and even a special appearance from Santa Claus! The Holiday Bus will also be present! To get to the celebration, hop on board the Blue Line to Camp Wisdom Station.
