A yearly celebration of art and music is back in Deep Ellum, and elsewhere, performances and other events help remind us that it’s spring. Check out this week’s DARTable happenings.

Friday, April 1-Sunday, April 3

Deep Ellum Arts Festival kicks off Friday and runs all weekend. Multiple blocks of Main Street turn into a giant street festival. There are 100 musical acts on five stages, and lots of food and beverage. And, of course, there’s art – around 200 sculptors, muralists, jewelers, painters, crafters and more. The Main Stage’s last performance each evening will become a separate, gated venue with advance ticket sales. The festival takes place from the 3100 to 3600 blocks of Main Street. Deep Ellum Station and Baylor University Medical Center Station will both put you right by the action, and both are on the Green Line.

Friday, April 1

Farmers Branch Historical Park presents an Adult Egg Hunt, a brand-new, adult-only evening event. Roam the 27-acre open-air museum searching for 6,000 eggs – each one of which contains a prize. Egg collection containers will be provided. The park is a short walk from Farmers Branch Station on the Green Line.

Angela Aguilar comes to Dallas in support of her album, Mexicana Enamorada. Catch the Mexican American singer-songwriter at the Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory, a short walk from the Orange Line’s Irving Convention Center Station. You can also catch Bus Route 227 which departs from the same station and takes you right to the Pavilion.

Saturday, April 2

The Odd Couple is a story of two divorced men who live together. One is fastidious, the other a slob. What could go wrong? The Neil Simon classic is in the first weekend of its run at WaterTower Theatre; you can see it through April 10. The venue is a short walk from Addison Transit Center on numerous bus routes.

Family Festival is a fun-filled day of free activities for the entire family hosted by the Dallas Museum of Art. Enjoy outdoor yoga, art making, and live music and dance performances, and have the chance to meet and make alongside local artists! The museum is a short walk from St. Paul Station on all four DART Rail lines.

Saturday, April 2-Sunday, April 3

Happy Together: 50 Years of Gold is the Vocal Majority's spring concert marking the popular chorus’s 50th Anniversary. The concert will feature audience favorites spanning many years, plus new songs from their latest recording. See it at the Eisemann Center for Performing Arts, right across the plaza from Galatyn Park Station on the Red Line.
