The summer is kicking into gear with outdoor concerts, festivals, markets, and plays. Get on DART and let the summer begin at these cool events.

REMINDER – DART is conducting maintenance and repair activities in the Cityplace/Uptown Station tunnel during the weekend. Charter buses have replaced light rail service between Pearl/Arts District Station and SMU/Mockingbird Station. Please plan for extra travel time. Thursday, June 9 – Sunday, June 12

Cabaret is a musical set in 1920s Berlin, where the hedonistic nightlife at the Kit Kat Klub unfolds against dark times in Germany as the Third Reich rises to power. See this classic night of theater at the Majestic Theatre, a few blocks from St. Paul Station on all four DART Rail lines.

Friday, June 10- Sunday, June 12

Taste of Dallas showcases our region’s rich culinary scene with tons of awesome food and dozens of interactive activities. This year’s new food attractions include Baconland, Smoke & Sauce, Veggie Paradise, Global Flavors, It’s So Fair, and more. (They had us at “bacon.”) Come hungry to Dallas Market Hall, a short walk from Market Center Station on the Green and Orange lines.

Friday, June 10

On Stage at Heritage is Irving’s terrific summer concert and activity series, with food trucks, good vibes and, of course, live music. Check out Donovan Keith, an Austin-based musician with classic soul vocals and a knack for showmanship. See him at Heritage Park, just down the street from Downtown Irving/Heritage Crossing Station on the Trinity Railway Express (TRE).

CityLine Night Market brings local vendors to Richardson’s CityLine. The open-air market specializes in one-of-a-kind items — vintage, handcrafted and fair-trade products are abundant. You can head to the market by taking the Red Line to CityLine/Bush Station.

Saturday, June 11

Denton Drive Live! continues its free outdoor concert series with the classic-rock stylings of The Elton Johns (performing in full costume) and Rock and Roll Over (dedicated to the music of KISS). The concert happens at The Grove @ Mustang Crossing, a short walk from Farmers Branch Station on the Green Line.

Artifice is a play that follows a struggling artist who finally gets his big break – then dies. It turns out to be a great career move, as his work suddenly skyrockets in value. His estranged wife sells it all to a wealthy real estate mogul, and her gallery becomes prominent. But then the deceased artist unexpectedly reappears. You can catch the performance through June 25 at the Cox Playhouse, just across Haggard Park from the Red Line’s Downtown Plano Station.
