Into the Woods Jr. centers on a baker and his wife, who wish to have a child. When the two learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse and wind up changed forever. Catch the production by Rowlett Summer Musicals at Garland’s Plaza Theatre, walkable from Downtown Garland Station on the Blue Line.

Parade of Playhouses features children’s playhouses designed and built by Dallas-area architects, builders and craftsmen. The structures run the gamut of style and design and are available to win by raffle. All funds raised from the event benefit the child victims of abuse or neglect served by Dallas CASA. See the unique display at NorthPark Center, served by the NorthPark Shuttle (Bus Route 402) departing from Park Lane Station on the Red and Orange Lines.

KXT 91.7 Summer Concert Series features performances from local and national acts on the Klyde Warren Park stage, with food trucks and beverages. This evening, see J Isaiah Evans & The Boss Tweed, along with Frankie Leonie. You can walk to the park from St. Paul Station on all four DART Rail lines; the M-Line Trolley drops you off right there.

Sara Evans is a country singer with 10 albums under her belt, the most recent being 2020's Copy That. She performs tonight at the Meyerson Symphony Center. The venue is walkable from Pearl/Arts District Station on all four DART Rail lines, or the M-Line Trolley.

34th Texas Black Invitational Rodeo is a more than 30-year Dallas tradition. The family-fun rodeo features hundreds of African American cowboys and cowgirls as they compete for cash prizes in bronc and bull riding, calf and steer roping, barrel racing and a Pony Express relay race. The fast-paced event provides guests with a glimpse of the historical contributions that African Americans made in the western United States. Check out the rodeo at Fair Park Coliseum, a short walk from the Green Line’s Fair Park Station.

Young The Giant comes to Dallas in support of their 2022 album, American Bollywood. Milky Chance opens at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory, walkable from the Orange Line’s Irving Convention Center Station. You can also take Bus Route 227.

The 2023 Basically Beethoven Festival is a terrific – and free – summer series from the Fine Arts Chamber Players. The theme of tonight’s program is “Matters of the Heart.” The performance introduces rising star Guanjie Tony Lu performing Beethoven and Dutillieux. Featured performers Jen Betz, Theodore Harvey, Alex McDonald, Rachel McDonald, and Lewis Warren, Jr., play Mozart and Schumann. Don’t miss the performances at Moody Performance Hall, walkable from Pearl/Arts District Station on all four DART Rail lines, or the M-Line Trolley.
