Kevin Hart brings his Reality Check Tour to Dallas. It’s the comedian’s first tour in four years, and his popularity speaks for itself – he’s playing the American Airlines Center, after all. You can get to the venue by taking the Green or Orange line to Victory station; the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) stops there, as well.

 

 

Friday, Aug. 12

The Summer Survivor Speaker Series at the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum presents Julie Meetal Berman – a Hungarian-born woman who, along with her parents, was sent to Auschwitz. All three survived the Holocaust. Hear her riveting story at 1 p.m. It’s free to attend, but you’ll need to pay admission to see the museum’s fascinating exhibits. The museum is a short walk from West End Station on all four DART Rail lines

Dakota Ritter performs his brand of “red dirt country” at Rowlett’s SummerConcert Series. The concert is on Main Street, a short walk from the Blue Line’s Downtown Rowlett Station.

On Stage at Heritage presents A Night of Laughs -- an evening of fun, entertaining (and clean) comedians featuring headliner Dorie McLemore. There are food trucks on hand, as well as the numerous restaurants of Irving’s Heritage District. The show is at Heritage Park, a short walk from Downtown Irving/Heritage Crossing Station, served by the Trinity Railway Express (TRE).

CityLine Night Market brings locally and ethically sourced vendors to Richardson’s CityLine development. Support small businesses and check out the local, vintage, handcrafted and fair-trade products. Get to the market by taking the Red Line to CityLine/Bush Station.

Three Days Grace comes to town in support of their new album, Explosions. Catch the Canadian rockers at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory, walkable from Irving Convention Center Station on the Orange Line. You can also take Bus Route 227 to the venue.

 

Saturday, Aug. 13

Denton Drive Live! continues its free outdoor concert series with the classic-rock stylings of Windy City (a 10-piece "Chicago" tribute) and Fleetwood X (dedicated to the music of Fleetwood Mac). The concert happens at The Grove @ Mustang Crossing, a short walk from Farmers Branch Station on the Green Line

Saturdays on the Square presents a free, family-friendly movie under the stars on the square in Historic Downtown Carrollton. Prepare to sing your heart out with the animated family spectacular Sing 2 (2021), PG. The movie begins at sunset and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. While Downtown, don’t forget to stop by one of the many eclectic shops for snacks or make a night of it and grab dinner with the whole family. The Downtown Carrollton Square is a short walk from Downtown Carrollton Station on the Green Line.

Movies in the Park at Klyde Warren Park features family-friendly movies and food trucks. Tonight, it’s Soul, another knock-it-out-of-the-park animated movie from Pixar. The film also has a terrific score if you’re a jazz buff. You can walk to the park from Pearl or St. Paul station – both on all four DART Rail lines – or catch the M-Line Trolley. 

 

Sunday, Aug. 14

The SpongeBob Musical has all your favorite characters from Bikini Bottom, and Sunday’s matinee is your last chance to catch this production at The Firehouse Theatre. The venue is walkable from the Green Line’s Farmers Branch Station.

Father John Misty comes to Dallas in support of his new album, Chloë and the Next 20th Century. The many-faceted singer and songwriter is joined by Suki Waterhouse at The Factory in Deep Ellum. You can walk to the venue from Deep Ellum Station on the Green Line.
