Friday, Sept. 11

Spring Awakening is a rock musical that won eight Tony Awards. It follows a group of young people on the path to self-discovery. Experience it through Sept. 27 at Theatre Three. That’s a short walk from the M-Line Trolley stop at McKinney and Worthington.

Reykjavik86 dramatizes the 1986 nuclear summit between Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev. The Cold War-era thriller runs through September 27 at Wyly Theatre. You can walk there from Pearl/Arts District Station on the Red, Blue, Green and Orange lines, or from the M-Line Trolley.

CityLine Night Market in Richardson features The Boho Market with +30 local vendors selling handmade, vintage and other one-of-a-kind items. Enjoy live music while you shop, and soak in the lively atmosphere with friends and family. Get to the market by taking the Red Line or the Silver Line to CityLine/Bush Station.

Fan Expo Dallas has a terrific roster of celebrities on hand for panels, autographs, and photos this year. Check it out: Nicolas Cage; Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Dominic Monaghan, Billy Boyd, Karl Urban, John Rhys-Davies, and John Noble from Lord of the Rings. Joe Pantoliano, Kerri Green, Martha Plimpton, and Robert Davi from The Goonies. Plus! Emilio Estevez, Kiefer Sutherland, Charlie Sheen, Lou Diamond Phillips, Mel Gibson, Danny Glover, Henry Winkler, and many, many more. The event takes place at Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.  Convention Center Station is closed for now, but no matter – you can walk there easily from EBJ Union Station on the Red and Blue lines, as well as on the TRE.

The Music of Elvis with Frankie Moreno stars the five-time Las Vegas Headliner of the Year winner present a celebration of the King. Expect to hear all the classics at the Meyerson Symphony Center. Walk there from Pearl/Arts District Station on the Red, Blue, Green and Orange lines, or from the M-Line Trolley.

The Downtown Dallas Arts and Music Festival features live music, art, nine live mural paintings, artisan goods, lots of food and more. The family-friendly festival is big on local and regional artists and musicians. Meet them at Main Street Garden, a short walk from St. Paul Station on the Red, Blue, Green, and Orange lines.
