Free movies, karaoke and live music are all DARTable this weekend. Jump in and see where DART can take you.

Friday, Sept. 8 

Flogging Molly comes to Dallas in support of their 2022 album, Anthem. The band defies description, but has been called “Celtic punk.” Catch the performance at House of Blues, walkable from West End Station on all four DART Rail lines.

Irving Movies on Main September 2023Movies on Main is Irving’s free film series, and tonight’s screening is the animated Bad Guys. After a heist gone wrong, a wily wolf and his infamous crew of animal accomplices attempt to become model citizens. The movie rolls at 7:30 p.m. That gives you time to grab a bite in the Irving Heritage District or from one of the on-site food vendors. Don’t miss the screening and hop on board by taking the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) to Downtown Irving/Heritage Crossing Station.

Karaoke Night at McCall Plaza is pretty much what it sounds like. Grab some friends, warm up your pipes, and be prepared to sing under the stars in the heart of the Downtown Plano Arts District. McCall Plaza is adjacent to the Red Line’s Downtown Plano Station.

Downtown Carrollton - Saturdays on the SquareSaturday, Sept. 9

Saturdays on the Square shows a free outdoor movie this Saturday evening. Check out The Parent Trap, a romantic comedy starring Dennis Quaid, Natasha Richardson, and Lindsay Lohan in her debut role. The movie rolls at sundown; bring your own chairs of blankets. The Historic Downtown Carrollton square is a short walk from Downtown Carrollton Station on the Green Line.

The Big Texas Rally for Recovery celebrates all of those in recovery from substance abuse. Gather for a day filled with fun, family, and friends right next to DART’s MLK, Jr. Station on the Green Line. The rally takes place from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. It’s free, but they ask that you register to attend.

Friday, Sept. 8-Saturday, Sept. 9

Revival is the first production of Ballet Papillon’s season. See the premier of six original works at the Latino Cultural Center. The venue is just down the street from the Green Line’s Deep Ellum Station.

Hispanic Heritage
Saturday, Sept.9-Sunday, Sept. 10

Hispanic Heritage Celebration is a two-day event at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. There are vendors, food, live music, and cooking demonstrations. Not to mention the Quinceañera Fashion Show on Saturday. Get to the Dallas Arboretum by taking Bus Route 214, departing from EBJ Union Station.

Sunday, Sept. 10

5 Seconds of Summer comes to Irving in support of their 2022 album, 5SOC5. Check out the Aussie pop rockers at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory. The walkable from Irving Convention Center Station on the Orange Line. You can also take Bus Route 227.
