Get a kids eye view at life beneath the waves. The Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park was made for children, literally! They'll be able to get a look at exhibits on their level while they learn about aquatic life from across the globe. There is a feeding demonstration everyday at 2:30 p.m. The aquarium is divided into different zones including Freshwater, Intertidal, and Stingray Bay.  In the Freshwater Zone, guests can see and learn about an albino American alligator, alligator snapping turtle and electric eel. The Intertidal Zone includes starfish, urchins and oriental sweettips. But you really don’t want to miss Stingray Bay! It’s home to MJ, the loggerhead turtle. The blue-eyed girl was found stranded on South Padre Island in 2004. She was taken to a rescue organization, but couldn’t be released back into the ocean due to severe injuries. Now, the 150-pound beauty has a new home. Kids will love seeing her swim in her 58,000 gallon display. DART riders can get to the Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park on the Green Line. Take it to Fair Park Station and it’s a short walk to the front door. Tickets cost $8 for ages 12 and up, $6 for seniors 65 and older, $6 and ages 3-11 and ages 2 and younger get in free.
