LRT_north_from_Deep_Ellum_Station_6-8-09 Did you know the U.S. Department of Transportation regulates Daylight Saving Time? The U.S. DOT oversees time zones because standard times are important for many modes of transportation. According to the U.S. DOT website, Daylight Saving Time saves lives and prevents traffic injuries because more people travel to and from school, work and errands during the daylight. In the fall and winter when the days are the shortest, we “fall back” to gain an hour of morning light. When Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, DART will operate according to Standard Time. Before you go to bed, don't forget to set your clocks back one hour. Learn more about the uniform observance of Daylight Saving Time at transportation.gov. Need a refresher on DART’s train and bus schedules? Visit DART.org for schedule information.
