Recently, DART held a Facebook Live event to address the proposed DARTzoom: Bus Network Redesign. During the program, the agency fielded a number of questions about GoLink. Here are the basics of what you need to know to use GoLink service.
GoLink At A Glance
GoLink offers on-demand, curb-to-curb service in a growing number of zones across the DART Service Area, and DART has proposed expanding GoLink service to even more zones in the near future.
Using a variety of vehicles and service providers, GoLink delivers convenient, curb-to-curb transportation within a designated boundary by dispatching the closest vehicle. It’s about less waiting – and more going! Take GoLink to work, run an errand or use it connect to other DART services.
Each GoLink zone provides service to a rail station or transit center, for connections to DART Rail and buses. Hours of operation vary by zone. Click here for complete service information by zone, key destinations, service maps and more.
How to Pay for GoLink Trips
Your GoLink fare is covered by a valid contactless DART fare when you book through the GoPassapp or by calling 214-515-7272.
Simply purchase your fare and book trips using one of these contactless methods, as cash fares, paper passes and vouchers are not accepted:
Fares are per person, per trip – children under 5 may ride free when accompanied by an adult with a valid fare. Note: If using GoPass Tap, each person must have their own GoPass Tap card. For a complete list of available fares, click here or call 214-979-1111.
By purchasing your GoLink fare with the GoPass app or a registered GoPass Tap card, you automatically get the best fare every time you ride. With fare capping, you never pay more than the total cost of a day pass in a single day, or the total cost of a Monthly Pass in a calendar month. Remember to tap using the same card linked to your GoPass app when riding other DART services.
How to Book Trips with GoPass
Don’t have a smartphone? Book your trip by calling 214-515-7272. Note: Phone reservations must be made in advance. Only same-day trips accepted. UberPool trips cannot be booked by phone – only GoLink. Reservations accepted Monday-Friday, starting at 4:30 a.m.
An Example
Imagine that you need to get from your office within the North Central Plano/Chase Oaks zone to Parker Road Station. Using the trip-planning feature in the GoPass app, you learn that a GoLink vehicle can drop you off at the station within 25 minutes, and that your fare would be covered by the day pass you purchased in the app earlier today.
GoPass also shows an UberPool option, which would drop you off at the station within 13 minutes but would cost an additional $1. To save money, you stick with the GoLink service that is covered by your existing DART fare.
Five Things to Remember
Now that you understand how GoLink works, it’s time to book your first trip!
