A new stop is coming to a rail line near you! Hidden Ridge Station will begin service along the Orange Line on Monday, April 12. The station is located between North Lake College and Irving Convention Center stations in Irving.

This station is the next stop connecting DART and transit-oriented development. The city of Irving and Verizon partnered to develop the 110-acre mixed-use project. The Las Colinas Association also had involvement with the development’s construction to ensure it met the association’s standards and enhanced quality of life. The long-term vision for Hidden Ridge includes 1,200 apartments and residences; 80,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space; a hotel; and a two-acre green space with amenities.

In addition to the adjacent Verizon regional office, the Hidden Ridge development is home to Pioneer Natural Resources, an Irving-based independent oil and gas exploration and production company. The company is headquartered in a 10-story office building that is located a short walk from the rail station.

Hidden Ridge Station is located on Carpenter Ranch, once the homestead of Las Colinas founder Ben Carpenter. Ben’s father – legendary Texas businessman John W. Carpenter – bought the hillside spread of grass and mesquite trees northwest of Dallas in 1928. Ranch land no more, Ben Carpenter and his family spent decades transforming the once 8,000-acre plot into Las Colinas. This transformation continues with the ranch’s evolution into Hidden Ridge.

The station’s art and design reflects the land’s history. It features the work of Marty Ray, a ceramic artist and Professor Emerita of Art, who retired from Dallas College North Lake Campus – formerly North Lake College – in 2017.

Upon opening, the station will also make it easy for riders to transfer to and from DART bus service. The station also features a 136-space parking lot, as well as five kiss-and-ride spaces for hassle-free drop-off and pickup.

Hidden Ridge Station promises a simpler commute for area residents and employees, providing rail and bus access to the many nearby offices, in addition to providing connections to neighboring apartments and hotels. The trip to and from DFW Airport takes less than 15 minutes from the station. Riders will also be able to connect from Hidden Ridge Station to destinations across the DART Service Area, including nearby developments, such as the Toyota Music Factory, the Las Colinas Urban Center and Water Street.

With construction nearly completed, the next phase of Carpenter Ranch’s transformation happens on Monday, April 12!
