The DARTzoom: A New Bus Network project aims to redesign DART’s bus network in all 13 of the agency’s service-area cities. This initiative is a collaborative planning effort to decide where bus lines should go, when they should run and how frequent the service should be, all starting from a clean slate.
Join us on Facebook Live May 19 at noon, where our DARTzoom experts will discuss the redesign project. Before the event, get to know the participants:
Ralph Parker III has been with DART since 2011. Growing up on DART, he’s always had a love for the agency and public transit in North Texas. He understands that bus transportation can play a vital role in the way people move.
“I’m interested to know what the people of our region want to see in their bus network -- what works for them and how we can meet their needs to provide an overall experience for them.”
Rob Smith directs and oversees the activities of staff engaged in short-range bus service planning, bus and rail scheduling, and management of DART innovative service programs for DART’s Service Planning Department.
“The Facebook Live event is another of a series of public involvement activities for the Bus Network Redesign effort. I look forward to hearing the feedback from our community.”
Lawrence Meshack works to ensure public involvement opportunities for residents within DART’s 13 city service area. He works closely with DART’s Capital Planning and Development departments on capital projects and bus service change projects.
“I look forward to connecting with our customers and hearing their input on a bus network redesign for North Texas.”
Michelle Poyourow is a national expert in redesigning bus networks. She has led the transportation planning firm Jarrett Walker + Associates’ work on bus networks designs for cities throughout the U.S. Michelle spent her first years in the transportation industry working on bike and pedestrian planning, before turning her focus to public transit. “The DARTzoom Facebook Live event is another great opportunity to have a conversation with people who care about and rely on DART.”
