North Texans working in the booming Legacy area of Plano and the Cypress Waters area of Dallas will find it easier to get to work with DART'snew bus service changes beginning March 13.Legacy Area Bus Service ImprovedWith the service change, Express Bus Route 208 will extend north from Northwest Plano Park & Ride into Legacy West, directly serving JC Penney, JP Morgan Chase, FedEx Office, Toyota, Liberty Mutual and Frito Lay.This service will operate on alternate trips, approximately every 30 minutes, during morning and late afternoon rush hours. In addition, the new east-west Express Bus Route 211 will operate non-stop, every 15 minutes, at peak periods only, between Parker Road Station and Northwest Plano Park & Ride. This Route will run primarily along Spring Creek Parkway, then continue into Legacy, serving Chase, JC Penney, FedEx, Liberty Mutual and Toyota. If you who ride DART Bus routes that end at Northwest Plano Park & Ride, you can reach Legacy West on Routes 211, 346 and 452.Also in addition, a revised Route 346 will combine existing Routes 346 and 348, to serve destinations not reached by either Route 208 or Route 211, such as Granite Park, Bank of America and Yum Brands. Route 346 will run during peak times only.Service Changes for Cypress Waters and Freeport RoutesFor those of you living and working in the Cypress Waters area of Dallas, DART is making it more convenient to reach Belt Line Station with two existing routes.Route 500 will no longer serve the Freeport area near DFW Airport on weekday trips. It will instead use Premier/Gateway routing (U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service and currently a part of Route 510). This will reduce travel time between Belt Line Station in Irving and Cypress Waters corporate headquarters in Dallas, such as 7-Eleven and Core Logic. Weekend service will remain unchanged.Route 510 will no longer serve the USINS Premier/Gateway segment and instead pick up Freeport service currently provided by Route 500 on weekdays; weekend service via Freeport will continue to be available on Route 500. Passengers will be able to connect to DART Rail at either Belt Line or Irving Convention Center stations.D-Link to Deep EllumDART’s extending its freeD-Linkservice to Deep Ellum. The popular bus shuttle now stops at the corner of Elm Street and Good-Latimer Expressway, near the neighborhood’s main drag. The D-Link runs from 11 a.m. until 11:30 p.m., Monday-Saturday. To accommodate these route changes, service levels will be adjusted to every 16 minutes between 4 and 6:30 p.m. on weekdays, but will remain 15 minutes at all other times. For more information about these and other service changes, call DART Customer Service at 214-979-1111 or visit toDART.org, especially to learn more about routes 2, 42, 52, 59, 76, 161, 164, 350, 360, 400, 409, 415, 463, 515, 521, 535, 574, 704 and 705.
