Need a ride to vote? DART has you covered with free trips to voting locations within the DART Service Area. Here is what you need to know before you make your way to the polls for the March primary elections.
- When is the election? The Texas primary election is on Tuesday, March 5.
- How do I find my voting location?
You will need to check with the election’s office in your county. Visit DART.org/Vote for a list of county election offices.
- When are voting locations open?
Voting locations are open at various times during early voting and from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on the day of the Texas primary election. Check your county’s elections website for specific times.
- Are free rides available on all DART vehicles?
Voters can ride at no charge on all DART buses, trains, the Dallas Streetcar, GoLink, Paratransit Services and the TRE between EBJ Union Station and CentrePort/DFW Airport Station.
- Do I have to have a voter registration card to ride for free?
Yes. Riders must show a valid voter registration card to ride for free on March 5.
- How can I find the best route to my voting location on DART?
You can use the “Plan” tool
in the free GoPass® app. There also is a
Trip Planner on DART.org, or you can contact DART Customer Service at
214-979-1111. If you plan your trip directly in Google Maps, enter the voting
location as your destination and choose the Transit option (train icon).
- Is GoLink offering free rides on March 5?
Yes. By entering the promo code VOTE35 in the GoPass app or by providing the code over the phone at 214-515-7272, GoLink riders can redeem a complimentary Adult Local Day Pass valid for a free booking on March 5 only.
- How do I take the free shuttle to the voting location at Dallas County Elections Training/Warehouse (1460 Round Table Drive, Dallas)?
DART’s free roundtrip shuttle service will be offered on Tuesday, March 5 only. The first bus departs from the shuttle stop at 6:35 a.m. The last shuttle departs for the polling location at 8 p.m. Riders wishing to vote at this location can connect to the special shuttle service using Route 222. The Vote Center Shuttle will pick up and drop off riders at the bus stop located at the intersection of Titan Drive at Empress Row (1278 Titan Drive, Dallas), which is served by Route 222 seven days a week. To get to the shuttle stop, riders can take the Green or Orange lines to Inwood/Love Field Station, where they can board a Route 222 bus with “Regal Row” in the destination sign. The last return shuttle departs the polling location at 7:30 p.m. However, DART will continue transporting voters back to the bus stop until the polling location clears.
