The Dallas Mayor's Back to School Fair is one of the summer's most anticipated events. Families begin lining up in the wee early hours for the event that provides supplies, services and information for City of Dallas residents or Dallas ISD students. Preparing for the event is a monster of a task. DART attends the event every year giving out bags of supplies and providing information about student bus passes and other services. To prepare for the event, DART's Education Outreach Manager Jessica Lennon and her team that includes Nicole Raphiel and Marcia Parrish spend hours upon hours preparing bags to be handed out and coordinating with other DART employees to attend the event. This year, the team is ready with 4,117 bags of goodies, which have been prepared over the past week. Be sure to visit the DART booth at the Mayor's Back to School Fair, which happens from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, August 1, at Fair Park's Automobile and Centennial Buildings.
